About Chilverstone Engineering

A new precision machining and fabrication workshop in the United Kingdom, set up in 2026 around [XX]+ years of hands-on engineering experience.

Our story

A long-standing ambition, finally on the shop floor

Chilverstone Engineering was started in 2026 to do something simple and difficult at the same time: make good parts, quote them fairly, and keep the person doing the work in direct contact with the person who needs it.

The workshop has been built around [FOUNDER NAME]'s [XX]+ years of hands-on engineering experience in precision machining, turning, milling and fabrication. That experience is the reason the company exists — the machines are new, the approach is not.

We are not pretending to be an established name. Established 2026 is on the sign, and it is accurate. What we can offer today is direct access to an experienced engineer, careful work, keen initial pricing while we build our portfolio, and an honest answer when a job is outside what we can do well.

Nothing here is invented. We have no trading history, no customer list to quote at you and no figures to dress up. This page says exactly where the experience comes from and what the workshop can do today.

The founder

[FOUNDER NAME]

[XX]+ years in precision engineering, now working for himself and for the customers who need parts making properly.

"I have spent [XX]+ years machining other people's drawings, fixing other people's breakdowns and being the person on the shop floor who gets asked when something is difficult. Starting Chilverstone is a chance to do that work directly with the customer, without a queue of people between the drawing and the machine.

The workshop is new, so I am not asking anyone to take the usual claims on trust. Send me a drawing, tell me the deadline, and judge the quote and the part on their own merits."

  • Experience: [XX]+ years across turning, milling, fabrication and fitting
  • Approach: drawings checked before cutting, parts checked as they are made
  • Why he started it: to do precise work directly for the people who need it, at a fair price

Values

Four things we will not compromise on

Precision

If a drawing says a tolerance, that is the tolerance we work to — and we will say so before starting if it is not achievable on the machines we have.

Quality

Drawings checked before cutting, work checked during machining, finished parts inspected before they leave the workshop.

Straight talking

Plain answers about price, lead time and capability. If we cannot do it, we will say so quickly rather than waste your time.

Investing in capability

The workshop is being equipped to grow with the work, and the machinery page is kept honest about exactly what is confirmed.

We're new. Here's what that means for you.

  • No standing reputation to hide behind, so every job matters more, not less.
  • Direct contact with the engineer who will actually make your parts.
  • Keen initial pricing while we build our portfolio of delivered work.
  • A confirmed lead time in writing with every quote, and a call if it moves.
  • We will say no if a job is outside our capability, and point you somewhere better.
  • No invented history, no borrowed logos, no claims we cannot stand behind.

How we work

The quality approach, step by step

Nothing complicated — just the checks that stop a part being made twice.

  1. 1

    Drawings checked before cutting

Dimensions, tolerances, material and finish are reviewed before any material is touched, and anything unclear is queried first.

  2. 2

    Set-up and first-off checked

The set-up is proven on a first part and measured before the rest of the batch is run.

  3. 3

    In-process checks

Critical features are measured as the job runs, so a drift is caught while it is still cheap to correct.

  4. 4

    Inspection before dispatch

Finished parts are inspected against the drawing, and job records are kept so a repeat order matches the first.

What we ask from you

  • A drawing, sketch or sample that shows what the part has to do
  • The quantity, even if it is only one
  • The tolerances that actually matter to the fit
  • The date you need it, so we can be honest about the lead time
Send a drawing for quoting

Have a drawing? Let's talk about it.

Send us your drawings, sketches or a sample part and we'll come back with a price and a lead time.
